The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's flag is a green flag with a white Arabic lettering and a sword on it. The inscription is the Shahada, the Islamic faith, which declares “There is no deity but God; Muhammad is the Messenger of God”. Green is a prominent hue in Islam because it is associated with the Prophet Muhammad and also represents the country's wealth and well-being.

The sword represents strength and the defense of the land. This flag has been in use by the Saudi government since March 15, 1973, and it serves as the country's official symbol.
