Sweden flag

The Swedish flag, often known as the national flag of Sweden, is a light blue background with a golden or gold Nordic cross in the center. The Nordic cross is a traditional Christian design that extends to the flag's margins, with the crossbar closer to the hoist side.

The flag's design is thought to have been influenced by Sweden's coat of arms from 1442, which contains a blue background divided into four portions by a gold cross pattée. The Danish flag is thought to have inspired this design. The colors blue and yellow have been connected with Sweden from at least the 13th century, specifically since 1275 in Magnus III's coat of arms.

Since June 22, 1915, the Swedish flag has been formally approved. Today, the flag is frequently used in all official events and public locations throughout the country, and it is regarded as a symbol of Swedish identity.
