Vietnam Flag
Vietnam's flag is crimson with a huge golden star in the center, representing the five main classes in Vietnamese society: intellectuals, farmers, workers, entrepreneurs, and soldiers.
The flag was first used during an insurrection against the French in southern Vietnam in 1940, and it was later adopted as the flag of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam by the Viet Minh. Following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, the North Vietnamese flag was recognized as the flag of the unified Vietnam.
It is also worth noting that the flag of Vietnam is the only ASEAN nation's flag that does not feature the color white, with red and yellow/gold regarded its historical national colors.
