Tajikistan Flag
Tajikistan's national flag is a horizontal tricolor of red, white, and green with a yellow crown surmounted by a seven-star arc in the center. The flag was approved in November 1992, replacing the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic's flag from 1953. The tricolor retains the colors and proportions of the former Tajik Soviet flag. The flag's width ratio is 2:3:2.
Flag Day is observed on November 24th to honor the formal adoption of the flag. The flag's colors are supposed to have symbolic meaning: red represents the sun, vitality, and national unity; white represents the snow of the Pamir Mountains and the people's clean intents; and green represents the rich valleys and their desire for a bright future. The crown and the seven stars signify the Tajik people's and their country's national unity.
