Cambodia Flag
The flag of Cambodia is a red and blue flag with a depiction of the temple of Angkor Wat in the center. The flag has three equal horizontal stripes, with the top and bottom stripes being blue and the middle stripe being red.
The red and blue colors are traditional colors of Cambodia, and the depiction of Angkor Wat, a famous temple site dating from the 12th century, is meant to symbolize the country's cultural heritage. The current flag was adopted in 1948 and readopted in 1993, following the restoration of the Cambodian monarchy.
There have been several other designs of the Cambodian flag used in the past, including during the Khmer Republic, the Democratic Kampuchea, and the People's Republic of Kampuchea, which all featured variations of the Angkor Wat design. The current flag is the same as the one adopted in 1948, with the exception of the specific color of the Angkor Wat depiction, which was changed from red to black.
