Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha Flag
Tristan da Cunha's flag is a blue ensign, which is a flag design with a blue field, the Union Jack in the canton, and the local coat of arms in the fly. The coat of arms portrays a Tristan longboat, a traditional watercraft used on the island, over a naval crown, with a central shield ornamented with four yellow-nosed albatross, a common bird on the island, flanked by two Tristan rock lobsters, a variety of lobster found in the waters around the islands.
The territory's slogan, “Our faith is our strength,” is printed on a scroll beneath this. The flag was adopted on October 20, 2002, through a proclamation issued by the Governor of Saint Helena in accordance with a Royal Warrant granted by Queen Elizabeth II.
